Omnissa Workspace ONE provides support for macOS 15 Sequoia
Apple has officially released macOS 15 Sequoia to the public, marking another milestone in their innovative history. The Omnissa team is excited to announce that Workspace ONE® UEM supports macOS 15 Sequoia, empowering organizations to seamlessly integrate this new OS into their environments. Organizations that wish to adopt Sequoia for their managed macOS devices can immediately update existing devices and enroll new ones.
macOS 15 introduces several enhanced features, particularly for mobile device management (MDM), enabling organizations to streamline device configurations and security policies more effectively. These improvements are designed to help IT administrators maintain stronger governance across their Mac fleet while ensuring a consistent user experience.
The biggest news regarding Sequoia is the beta release of Apple Intelligence, Apple’s first foray into the AI space, which will be made available on Macs with Apple silicon. For more information on all the new capabilities Sequoia brings to the table, review this blog.
For organizations that are not ready to adopt macOS 15 Sequoia and would like to temporarily prevent users from updating to this latest release, we recommend deploying a profile designed to postpone the update. To configure this profile, navigate to Profiles > Security & Privacy > OS Updates in the Workspace ONE UEM console. Here you can define how long you would like to defer the update, up to a maximum of 90 days, which should give admins time to validate and test applications, workflows, and business-critical processes to ensure compatibility with macOS 15.
With the release of macOS 15 Sequoia, organizations have more flexibility and control over how they manage and secure their macOS devices. Whether you’re adopting it on day one or taking a phased approach, Workspace ONE will help you execute your strategy effectively. From update management to device enrollment, Workspace ONE enables efficient macOS 15 implementation, with minimal disruption to end users.
