Introducing support for Apple Intelligence in Workspace ONE
With the release of its new operating systems and hardware, Apple also launched Apple Intelligence. Apple’s own version of generative AI is unique in that it can involve both on-device and cloud processing to complete tasks. Apple Intelligence is also uniquely privacy-conscious, deleting the data it uses to accomplish tasks once processing is complete. For these reasons, Apple Intelligence could prove to be a legitimate working generative AI solution for businesses that were concerned about privacy or security with other, more open alternatives.
Due to its advanced language understanding and writing tools, Apple Intelligence has the potential to benefit businesses by helping to streamline communications, proofread, and summarize documents. It can quickly analyze data to provide insights and improve decision making. Summarized notifications and productive AI-driven interactions can boost the employee experience. Overall, there are many reasons organizations may want to allow staff to use Apple Intelligence as a productivity tool.
For companies that want to manage Apple Intelligence on corporate-owned devices, Omnissa has an announcement. We have launched new profile features in Workspace ONE UEM® for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS that allow admins to manage capabilities like Writing Tools, Personalized Handwriting Results, Mail Summary, Image Playground, and more. If desired, admins can set new devices to skip the setup of Apple Intelligence altogether upon activation and/or restrict the Apple Intelligence options that are available to the user during enrollment.
As Apple continues to expand the capabilities of Apple Intelligence, Workspace ONE plans to keep pace and put admins in the driver’s seat in terms of managing this emerging technology.
