Omnissa and CrowdStrike have announced a collaboration to bring the Omnissa AI-driven digital work platform together with CrowdStrike’s AI-driven Falcon cybersecurity platform to increase cyber resilience for customers. The collaboration, announced October 23, 2024, at Omnissa ONE Amsterdam, aims to provide an end-to-end solution for threat visibility and interconnected vulnerability detection and remediation.

Organizations struggle with the challenge of managing poorly integrated solutions and siloed environments that impact issue prevention, detection, and time to response. Meanwhile, new vulnerabilities and emerging cyber threats present constant risk. Enterprises need to protect physical and virtual endpoints, applications, and data while enabling employees to be productive in a work-from-anywhere environment.

Omnissa and CrowdStrike intend to integrate best-of-breed digital work and security platforms to solve for the critical challenge of continuously connecting the digital workspace — both UEM and virtual desktops and apps — with endpoint protection and extended detection and response solutions.

Continuous protection for virtual desktops and apps

Omnissa Horizon® is an industry-leading solution for delivery of virtual desktops and apps — whether on-premises, in the cloud, or hybrid/multi-cloud — giving users the best digital work experience anywhere, anytime, and on any device. Today, Horizon customers can use the CrowdStrike Falcon sensor to protect their Horizon desktops, including by adding the Falcon agent to golden desktop images. This helps ensure broad protection for all Horizon desktops and apps at initiation, while maintaining an excellent user experience with minimal impact on local resources.

But VDI admins want the ability to quickly take inventory of which virtual desktops are protected and remediate those that are not. Omnissa and CrowdStrike plan to further modernize virtual desktops and applications with an integrated offering that will enable AI-powered continuous monitoring. This will empower admins to swiftly identify and remediate any virtual desktops lacking active Falcon sensors, better enabling security and compliance requirements to be met.

Automated endpoint protection and security across devices

Omnissa Workspace ONE® UEM uses advanced automation coupled with rich analytics to streamline IT operations for managing and better securing every device, OS platform, and application type, while also minimizing costs. The extensibility and automation capabilities of the Omnissa Platform allow it to ingest partner data and execute workflows to improve usability and security of devices.

CrowdStrike customers can already leverage Workspace ONE UEM for Falcon sensor deployment, app upgrades, and patching. Automated workflows can be created to identify non-compliant devices that do not have the sensor installed and take the appropriate remediation actions: notify the employee, quarantine the device, or block access to system resources.

Looking to the future, intended integrations with CrowdStrike will allow the Omnissa Platform to ingest app, OS, and config vulnerabilities as well as the threat status of devices directly from CrowdStrike Falcon. This will allow admins to immediately evaluate security risks, prioritize remediations, and kick-start resolutions from a single location, accelerating threat observation, risk-assessment, and automated remediation actions.
