In January, I wrote about our strategy for leveraging AI to deliver on our Autonomous Workspace vision. As we embrace the transformative capabilities of AI, it is our duty to maintain a responsible approach to its use. The Omnissa approach is centered on earning and maintaining the trust of our customers and partners; and founded on governance, transparency, and data privacy and security.
Governance
Governance is important for ensuring that AI systems are responsible, transparent, and fair. Which is why Omnissa formed an AI Council to promote, review, and monitor the use of AI throughout our products and services, as well as our operations. The council is comprised of members of Product Management, Security, Compliance, Legal, Privacy, and Data Science, and includes representatives from each major business function. The group governs the use of AI throughout Omnissa and conducts a formal review of AI powered capabilities whether in our products, services, or for internal use to ensure that these capabilities are in alignment with our established Responsible AI Policy. The AI Council, its policies, and processes are based on the NIST AI Risk Management Framework. This council and governance framework ensure that our AI powered features and services live up to our commitment to responsible AI and helps maintain trust.
Transparency
To maintain the trust of our customers and partners we are committed to being clear and forthcoming with how and where AI is used; whether in our products and services, how we are helping to ensure AI is safe, or how our customers’ data is managed. This transparency begins with the Omnissa AI Privacy Data Sheet found in our trust center, which summarizes our approach to responsible AI and enumerates where we use AI in our products and how this impacts our customers’ data.

We also introduced AI nutrition labels to provide detailed transparency into each AI-powered capability or service within our products. Our AI nutrition labels are designed to provide easily digestible answers to common questions regarding our use of AI, including what form of AI is being used, what models we leverage, whether and how we train our models, the guardrails we enforce, data privacy, data sovereignty, and data retention. These Nutrition Labels are meant to help customers decide whether to enable or disable each AI powered feature and service and are a demonstration of our commitment to transparency and a responsible approach to AI.
Data privacy and security
Omnissa provides secure digital workspaces to some of the largest and most secure organizations in the world and we take our responsibility to maintain the privacy and security of their data very seriously. This responsibility extends to our use of AI. Our use of customer data in our AI powered features and services must adhere to all our data privacy and security, data sovereignty, and data retention policies and commitments. In addition, the Omnissa AI Council has established policies to restrict the exposure of customer data to third-party models, forbid the use of customer data in training third-party models, and forbids the use of non-anonymized customer data for training and testing Omnissa models. These policies guide the design of our AI driven features and services and are a focal point of our AI Council reviews. These efforts demonstrate our commitment to maintaining the privacy and security of our customer data.
Ongoing commitment
I have highlighted just a few key processes and policies that exemplify our commitment to responsible AI. But our commitment is ongoing. We will continue to provide examples and updates to ensure our customers have access to the tremendous insights and efficiency gains unlocked by AI, all while keeping governance, transparency, data privacy and security in the forefront.
